Hi MUSTANGS! My name is Mrs. Simmons and I serve as one of our School Counselor's at Hope Middle School! Here is a little about me to acquaint you with my background!
Currently, I reside in Greenville, NC. I have been married for eleven years and I have a ten year old son name Uriah and 3 year old son name Asher! As an educator and Counselor, I have had the privilege of instructing and counseling students for Pitt County Schools for twelve years as well as the adult population at Pitt Community College. I have also implemented numerous life skills lessons and activities through my previous employer (Robeson Healthcare) to guide and instruct women in residential substance abuse treatment. As a 3-time PIRATE, I hold a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Recreational Therapy, a Master’s of Arts in Teaching Degree, and a Master's of Science in Counselor Education Degree from East Carolina University. In addition, I hold a North Carolina Teaching License for K-6 (Kindergarten through Sixth Grade) and am a National Certified Counselor. As a tenured educator and life-long learner, I am pursuing my Licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC)! Through my professional experiences, I have become familiar with the demands, expectations, and needs of students as well as teachers. I am always eager to contribute my zeal and dedication to educating, counseling, and developing life-long learners as well as critical thinkers. I have high expectations for our students and encourage them daily to make good decisions and to take the necessary steps to accomplish their desires in life. When I am not busy with work and school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and relaxing at home! I look forward to partnering with each of you to effectively and whole-heartily provide for the needs of our students.
